Implementing US Executive Order (EO) requirements

Arctera InfoScale Operations Manager supports Event log management requirements (EL1) by US executive order.
If you want to implement the EO, you need to do the following steps manually:
  1. In the /opt/VRTSsfmcs/webgui/tomcat/conf/server.xml file (Linux), inside "Valve className="org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve" tag, change the directory and log statement pattern as mentioned below:
    • Change the directory tag to directory="${web.log.dir}"
    • Change the pattern tag as follows: pattern="%{yyyy-MM-dd}tT%{HH:mm:ss.SSSXXX}t ${hostName} SourceIP=%a DestinationIP=%A "%r" %b StatusCode=%s ResponseTime=%F milliseconds SessionID=%S IncomingHeaders="%{User-Agent}i %{Content-Type}i %{Accept}i %{Accept-Encoding}i %{Accept-Language}i %{Accept-Charset}i" OutgoingHeaders="%{Content-Type}o %{Content-Length}o %{Server}o""
    • Add maxDays tag as follows:
maxDays="30"
Note: For Windows the file path isC:\Program Files\Veritas\VRTSsfmcs\webgui\tomcat\conf\server.xml
  1. Restart Web server.
After you restart the Web server, you can see the new logs inside the /var/opt/VRTSsfmcs/logs directory.
