Transition to subscription-based licensing and key enforcement
InfoScale is discontinuing the use of perpetual and keyless licenses. Key changes include:
-
New license format: Permanent keys are replaced by a universal term-based license that aligns directly with the end-date of your subscription entitlement. The .slf license key format is replaced by the .lic format, introducing a single cross-platform license key. Keyless license type is deprecated.
-
Active lifecycle enforcement: Unlike previous versions, where license expiration only triggered system log notifications and product functionality continued indefinitely, the new model actively enforces the license lifecycle.
-
Enforcement phases: To prevent sudden service disruptions while ensuring compliance, expired licenses transition through three distinct states: Warning, Grace, and Enforcement with product functionality impacted in the enforcement phase.
