Enabling anomaly detection

Last published : Jun 19, 2026
You can enable anomaly detection for a file system created on a volume. When you enable anomaly detection, the following file system attributes are monitored:
  • Rename count
  • Read count
  • Write count
Any deviations detected in these attributes are identified as anomalies and represented visually as graphs in the UI. Alerts are generated and shown in the UI.
To enable anomaly detection:
  1. In the Management Server console, go to the Server perspective and expandManage in the left pane.
  2. Search or locate the host in the left pane.
  3. Expand the host and expand Volumes.
  4. Click the volume that has the file system that you want to monitor for anomalies.
  5. Click Anomaly Watch. Select** Anomaly Detection and when prompted for confirmation click Yes**.
Anomaly detection is enabled and a successful notification is displayed on the screen.
After enabling anomaly detection, it takes the ML engine 30 days to learn baseline data patterns. During this training period, no graphs are shown in the UI. After the training duration is over, trend graphs for the monitored attributes are shown in the UI.
