About discovering Solaris zones

InfoScale Operations Manager discovers the zones that are created on Solaris 11 host that it manages. The Zone Agentlet that is installed along with the VRTSsfmh package on a Solaris 11 host lets InfoScale Operations Manager Management Server discover the Global Zones and the non-Global Zones on the host.
Through the discovery of Solaris zones, InfoScale Operations Manager discovers the following information:
  • The non-Global Zones that are associated with a Global Zone.
  • The storage that is exported from the Global Zone to non-Global Zones.
  • Databases that run in non-Global Zones of a Solaris 11 host.
    Note: InfoScale Operations Manager discovers the Oracle databases on a non-Global Zone only if the non-Global Zone is in the Running state.
    Note: InfoScale Operations Manager does not support the discovery of applications other than Oracle databases on non-Global Zones.
