Registering License Management Service

After completing the download packages, installation, verification, and configuration operations, you can use any supported web browser to log on to the License Management Service console. For the first login session, you need to procure the registration key, a .lic file from the InfoScale portal and then register the product. Note that for first-time login, only one authentication domain is displayed in the drop-down list.
The registration file includes the LMS host information to ensure that the registration key can only be used to activate the product on an LMS host that matches the host information encoded in the registration key.
Note: Ensure that you take a backup of the registration key, a.licfile that is generated during the registration process.
To register the License Management Service:
  1. Open a web browser on a host that has the network connection
  2. In the address field of the browser, type the following URL and press Enter:
    https://hostname:14161/#/login
    where, hostname is the fully-qualified host name which should not exceed 15 characters length. For an IPv4 configuration, you can specify the IP address instead of the host name.
  3. In the Username and Password fields, enter credentials for a valid user.
  4. Select the Domain and click Sign in.
  5. Run the hostname command on the host where License Management Service is installed and configured.
  6. Go to the InfoScale portal and complete the following steps:
    • Sign in to the portal with your credentials.
    • Provide the host name that you got earlier in step 5.
    • Download the registration key.
  7. On the License Management Service product registration page, optionally, enter the site name.
  8. Browse or drag and drop the registration key and click Upload.
  9. Click Register.
The Setup menu opens.
