High-level working

The primary function of License Management Service is to simplify and automate license management and ensure your InfoScale deployments are license complaint.
To successfully set up License Management Service, you must obtain two separate license keys, both of which use the .lic file extension and can be downloaded from the same location within the Cloud Software Group Support portal. Both the license files are subscription based with their own separate end dates that define the usage for a specified duration.
  • Product registration key (.lic file): A subscription-based license used to register your LMS host with the Cloud Software Group Support portal. When this key expires, nagging warning messages to update the registration license key are displayed in the LMS GUI. However, all operations continue to work without interruption.
  • InfoScale license key (.lic file): A subscription-based license for the InfoScale product. When this key expires, the InfoScale services are suspended and you are required to renew the license for continued product functionality.
You must first register License Management Service with the Cloud Software Group Support portal by downloading the product registration key from the Cloud Software Group Support portal, and then installing the key using the License Management Service GUI to register the host where License Management Service is installed and configured. The registration key is locked with the host name on which the License Management Service is installed and configured. After registering the License Management Service host with the Cloud Software Group Support portal, download the InfoScale license from the portal and upload the license key to the License Management Service host.
Add InfoScale hosts to License Management Service. License Management Service automatically syncs the license key to all the hosts that are added to License Management Service.
You can generate detailed reports about your deployment environment. The reports can be viewed on the License Management Service console and then for ease of future planning based on historical usage analysis it is recommended to share the reports with InfoScale. Reports can be shared using the License Management Service console.
