Re-registering the product key

Last published : Jun 19, 2026
The registration key. a .lic file is required for registering your LMS deployment. During the registration process the registration key is locked with the host name on which License Management Service is installed and configured. Later if the registration key is corrupted or deleted, then you need to regenerate and re-register the key. For re-registration, you can use the backup copy of the .lic file that was generated while registering for the fist time. You can also download a new registration file on the Cloud Software Group Support portal if required.
During the period between the corruption or deletion of the registration key and the re-registration process, you can continue to perform operations, however an alert message is displayed on the UI at every page load.
