Viewing the availability information for the data center

You can use the Management Server console to get a quick summary of the availability environment in your data center. You can view summarized information on the following:
  • Object Status: Shows the status of objects in your data center.
The following explains the status for each object:
Service Group Displays the number of service groups that are in Offline, Online, Partial, Faulted, or Frozen state.
- Partial: At least one resource is in offline state.
- Faulted: At least one resource is in Faulted state.
Cluster Displays the number of clusters that are in Offline or Online state.
System Displays the number of systems that are in Exited, Faulted, Running, or Unknown state.
- Exited: Systems that are no longer part of a cluster.
- Faulted: Systems that have left a cluster unexpectedly.
- Running: Systems that are active members of a cluster.
- Unknown: Systems that have not joined the cluster because they do not have a system entry in the configuration.
Virtual Business Service Displays the number of Virtual Business Services (VBS) that are in Offline, Online, Partial, or Faulted state.
- Partial: At least one service group is in Offline or Partial state.
- Faulted: At least one service group in the VBS is Faulted, or its associated object is Faulted.
  • Favorite Service Groups: Shows the status of your favorite service groups. Move the mouse pointer over a service group icon to view the information corresponding to the service group. These information include name of the service group, state, name of the cluster that is associated with the service group, and whether the service group is frozen. You can double-click the service group to navigate to the corresponding service group in the navigation tree.
You can add or remove service groups from the list of your favorite service groups. A maximum of 40 service groups can be added to the list of favorite service groups.
  • Cluster Platform Distribution: Shows the cluster distribution based on platform.
  • Faults and Risks: Shows the number of faults and risks for the objects.
  • Cluster HA Provider Distribution: Shows the cluster distribution based on the cluster HA provider. For example, VCS, ApplicationHA, or MSFoC.
  • Cluster Configuration Distribution: Shows the cluster distribution based on the cluster configuration. For example, Restart, Failover, or DR.
You can view this information related to the clusters for which your user group has at least Guest role explicitly assigned or inherited from a parent Organization. You can also view information if your user group has at least Guest role assigned on the Availability perspective.
To view the availability information in the data center
  1. In the Management Server console, go to the Availability perspective and selectManage in the left pane.
  2. Select Data Center in the navigation tree.
  3. Click the Overview tab.
