Viewing information about a database

You can use the Management Server console to select a single database and view details such as instances, tablespaces, files, volumes, and disks.
To view operations you can perform, right-click a database. For example, you can perform replication tasks related to Volume Replicator.

You can view this information related to the hosts for which your user group has at least Guest role explicitly assigned or inherited from a parent Organization. You can also view the information if your user group has at least Guest role assigned on the Server perspective.
To view information about a database
  1. In the Management Server console, go to the Server perspective and expand Manage in the left pane.
  2. Under Data Center , expand Applications.
  3. Expand Databases, expand the database type, and select the database.
  4. Select from the available tabs. The available tabs depend on the type of database. You can view information on the following, depending on the type of database:
    Instances See Viewing a database's instances .
    File groups (Microsoft SQL Server databases) See Viewing a database's file groups .
    Tablespaces (Oracle or Sybase databases) See Viewing a database's tablespaces .
    Files See Viewing a database's files .
    Volumes See Viewing a database's volumes .
    Disks See Viewing a database's disks .
    Replication See Viewing the replication for a database .
    ASM (Oracle databases configured for ASM) See Viewing Oracle ASM instances .
