Validate SecureFS checkpoints

Last published : Jul 06, 2026
The secure file system (SecureFS) feature is enhanced to help perform several validations on the SecureFS checkpoints. These validations determine whether the selected checkpoint is viable and usable for a recovery.
To view and validate the immutable checkpoints for an application, ensure that you select the host and the volume on which the application is installed or configured. To perform this task, your user group must be assigned the Admin role on the host or the Server perspective. The permission on the host may be explicitly assigned or inherited from a parent Organization.
To validate a SecureFS checkpoint
  1. In the Management Server console, go to the Server perspective and expandManage in the left pane.
  2. Expand Organization orUncategorized Hosts to locate and select the host.
  3. Expand the host and Volumes to locate the volume for which you have configured immutable checkpoints.
  4. Click the Snapshots tab in the right pane.
  5. Right-click on a checkpoint and select Validate.

  6. On the Validate checkpoint panel, verify that the desired checkpoint is selected and then click OK to begin the validation.
  7. The Validate checkpoint - Result pane displays the checkpoint validation status. InfoScale Operations Manager runs the InfoScale commands to validate the checkpoint. You may see a message similar to the following:

After the validation completes successfully, click OK. The validated checkpoint is ready to use for a recovery.
