Viewing the disk groups on a host

You can use the Management Server console to view all disk groups on a host and perform operations on them. Information is displayed about each disk group on the selected host.
Some of the information is as follows:
  • State: The state of the VxVm disk group, for example, imported
  • Type: The type of VxVM disk group
  • Family: The family the disk group belongs to
You can view this information related to the hosts for which your user group has at least Guest role explicitly assigned or inherited from a parent Organization. You can also view the information if your user group has at least Guest role assigned on the Server perspective.
To view operations you can perform, right-click a disk group.
Some of the operations you can perform include the following
  • Add disk to the disk group.
  • Remove disk from disk group.
  • Rename disk.
  • Resize disk
  • Destroy disk group
  • Import disk group
  • Deport disk group
To view a host's disk groups
  1. In the Management Server console, go to the Server perspective and expand Manage in the left pane.
  2. Expand the Organization or Uncategorized Hosts to locate the host.
  3. Expand the host.
  4. Click Disk Groups.
The disk groups for the host are displayed in the table. You can search for a disk group by entering a few letters of the disk group name. For more information on a specific disk group, double-click on the disk group name.
