Viewing Oracle ASM instances

InfoScale Operations Manager discovers Oracle ASM disks groups, the association of ASM files with ASM disk groups, and the correlation of Oracle databases with Oracle ASM. The discovery is supported for standalone instances of ASM and Real Application Clusters (RAC) configurations.
Oracle ASM discovery in InfoScale Operations Manager is not supported on the following:
  • Windows managed hosts
  • Agentless hosts
You can use the Management Server console to view the Oracle ASM instances associated with Oracle databases. The information includes properties such as host, version, state (online or offline), storage sizes (total, free, used), and other attributes.
You can use the tabs for more information on the selected ASM instance:
  • Databases tab: Shows information on the Oracle databases that are associated with the ASM instance. Includes information such as host, state, version, and type.
  • ASM Disk Groups tab: Shows information on the ASM disk groups that are associated with the ASM instance. Includes information such as condition, type, state, size, number of disks and number of volumes.
  • Volumes tab: Shows information on the volumes that are used to create Oracle ASM disk groups. Includes information such as name of the volume, its condition, associated disk group, layout, mount point, file system type, file system size, and other attributes.
  • Disks tab: Shows information on the disks that are used to create the ASM disk groups. Includes information such as LUN, condition, enclosure, associated disk group, path information, and other attributes.
You can view this information related to the hosts for which your user group has at least Guest role explicitly assigned or inherited from a parent Organization. You can also view the information if your user group has at least Guest role assigned on the Server perspective.
To view Oracle ASM instances
  1. In the Management Server console, go to the Server perspective and expand Manage in the left pane.
  2. Under Data Center , expand Applications.
  3. Expand Databases, select** Oracle** , and click the ASM tab.
  4. In the ASM table, click the required ASM instance.
